Job Announcement:
Education Service Center is looking for a Certified Braille
Proofreader to work on a temporary basis, estimated number of hours
per week is between 22.5 hours- 37.5 hours.  Braille Proofreader must
be able to work onsite at
Education Service Center
Region 20
1314 Hines
San Antonio, TX 78208
due to requirements of proofreading secured materials.

Summary of Duties: Proofread all Braille proof copies of Braille
transcriptions against original print to detect grammatical,
typographical, or compositional errors according to the rules of
English grammar, spelling and composition and Braille rules
established by the Braille Authority of North America.  Generate a log
of all errors found per project and submit to Supervisor.

Job Qualifications:
Literary Braille Proofreader Certification from the Library of
Congress or in process of securing.
Letter of proficiency in Unified English Braille (UEB) from National
Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped(NLS)
preferred.
Library of Congress certification in Mathematics Braille Proofreading preferred.

As a temporary staff member, you would be required to gain employment
through Burnett Staffing agency who then would assign you to our site.
