Hello Bonnie,

My apologies for not responding to your email in a more timely manner but I have been on sick leave for a while followed this week by a couple of snow days.

We discussed and approved your request to read the Alexandria Gazette Packet on the Dial-In service. The first issue was made available the week of Thursday, February 22nd. and  a Headline Message was read at the beginning of The Washington Post to announce that this new publication was now available.

You can access the Alexandria Gazette Packet in Publication #7, Category 19.

Please be aware however that because I have not been in the office, the latest issue is for the week of Thursday, March 8. We will resume normal weekly readings next week, Thursday, March 29th.

I truly enjoy my work providing the Dial-In service for you, and the rest of the visually impaired community through Maryland, Virginia and The District and The Washington Ear thanks you most sincerely for your annual financial contribution.

My husband Robert Hartt and I regularly read newspapers through the Washington Ear and make annual contributions. We live in Alexandria VA and lack access to the local Alexandria papers. We would like to request that you add the Alexandria Gazette to the local papers you read. You can find it on the link below. Although we receive the newspaper via email, it is very hard to access via our screenreader software. For example, sometimes our software reads across the columns and it is difficult to find the conclusion of articles when they are continued on another page. The paper comes out every Thursday and if you skip the ads it isn’t terribly long.

We would very much appreciate consideration of our request.

We appreciate the Washington Ear. Thank you very much.
