Hey NFB Family and Friends,

 

Our NFB of Virginia State Convention starts tomorrow, Sunday, October 24th.
Please read below, from At Large President, Patrick Johnson, more reasons to
attend the virtual convention.

 

 

Reasons I am looking forward to a virtual state convention

 

I am looking forward to a virtual state convention for the following
reasons.

•            Sleeping in my own bed.

•            The ability to attend multiple sessions at the same time
through Zoom.

•            The relaxed pace of a convention spread out over 7 days instead
of

crammed into 3 ½.

•            Bottomless strong coffee made the way I like it.

•            Avoiding being volunteered by Tracy.  On second thought, never
mind

he’s already assigned me tasks.

•            The ability to participate in late night sessions  while in
bed.

Some of us unfortunately  have alarm clocks set early.

•            The freedom to rock casual below the waist and professional
waist

up.  I’m leaning towards sweat pants and slippers to accompany my coat and
tie.

 

Reasons I dream of returning to an in person convention.

•            Fellowship garnered by sitting shoulder to shoulder with my
Federation family.

•            Bruised ankles from a weekend of getting whacked by canes.

•            Eavesdropping on others conversations during General session.
Don’t

tell me you don’t do this.

•            The excitement of the auction during banquet.

•            The feeling of peace and exhaustion on the way home after
another

successful convention.
