[NFBV-Potomac-Announce] March Chapter Meeting

Hello Colleagues,

Spring is in the air.  The time for our chapter fund raising auction is rapidly approaching.  The auction is a good time and helps fund the chapter's activities for the year.  It will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Saturday March 21 at the party room in Joe Hobson's apartment complex, 1111 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA 22202.

The Potomac Chapter NFBV will meet at 7:00 pm, Thursday March 12 at St. George's Episcopal Church.  The address is 915 North Oakland Street, Arlington Virginia 22201.  We meet in room 114.

Last month, as part of our Chapter Leadership Institute, Christine Grassman chaired our meeting.  Thank you Christine.  This month our chapter's other participant, Naim Muawia Abu-El Hawa, will chair the meeting.  He has an exciting program on fire safety and emergency preparedness planned.  Our speaker is  Sean  Stokes a fire safety and emergency preparedness expert from Fairfax Virginia.

We will also appoint a nominating committee and continue auction planning.

I am very much looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Note that the church is two blocks from the  Virginia Square Metro station.
1.  As you leave the Virginia Square Metro escalator turn 180 degrees and walk to Fairfax Drive.

2 Turn left and walk to Nelson.

3 Cross Nelson with Fairfax Drive on your right.  Note even though Nelson has little traffic, there is a traffic signal at this intersection.

4 After crossing Nelson Street continue for an additional block with Fairfax Drive on your right.  You will reach Oakland Street.  Turn left on Oakland and an almost immediate left through a small parking lot.

5 Knock on the door and someone will let you in the church.
