I got this from Matt Vollbrecht and wanted to share it here for all of you.
TTJ is thrilled to announce several new YouTube resources which can help you learn about new features in this years software releases, as well as learning the basics of the Voiceover screen reader.

First, new users will want to check out our Quick Start Primers. Learn how to get started with Voiceover on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. Each primer is concise lasting less than an hour, and we focus on showing you the basics so you can get started quickly.

After you listen to the primer, you can go further by taking one of our free courses, such as the upcoming Voiceover In and Out class, beginning on October 7 at 2PM in Zoom. Of course we also offer a variety of paid, one-on-one training options, perfect for those times when you need a custom training program to meet your needs.

To make it easy to find the Voiceover primers, we’ve created a playlist on YouTube. The link to the playlist is as follows:

Next, we’ve created a playlist of short, quick tip videos to help you learn about new features in iOS/iPad OS 18, TV OS 18, Watch OS 11, HomePod Software Version 18, and Mac OS Sequoia. So far, there are three videos in the playlist, but keep checking back, and add the playlist to your library, because new videos will be uploaded often, especially as new features are released (think Apple Intelligence). The link to this second new playlist is:

If you have any questions, please email info at ttjtech.biz, or call 814-348-1366, Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM Eastern. TTJ Premiere Protection and Gold customers may contact us any time via Apple iMessage or email. God bless you all and take care.:)

Subject: Re: [NJTechDiv] QR codes on the iPhone, and ESim

Hi Tracy,
This is Lori.

If your email is on your computer, you would open the email and with your iPhone you could say hey Siri open code scanner and it will look for the QR code to scan.
If that doesn’t work, you can open your iPhone and go to your control center if you have added the Code scanner item there. Pointer phone at your computer screen and the camera app in code scanner mode will be looking for the QR code.

I do not have a phone with an E Sim, but my husband does as most of the newer iPhones do not physically have a Sim card anymore. He got it set up at the Verizon store but it does sound as though it’s relatively easy to do  Some instructions from the provider. I’m sure you would be also able to get phone support to complete the task from the provider.

With the Sim card, as it was previously stated you need to know where the Sim card tray is and put it in correctly, etc.  This in addition to probably some additional set up on your account either done by you or the provider.
Also, consider I do not believe but I am not sure that you can use your old Sim card from a previous provider. A new provider would want to send you a new one.

I hope this helps a little.
Good luck!
Lori

I want to change phone providers, and I have to choose between an ESim or a sim card.  The ESim comes in an email as a QR code.
I don’t have email on my phone, and I don’t want it there.  So the email would come on my PC.  I don’t really know how to grab a QR code with my phone.  Do I just take a picture of it with my phone camera?  Or is there a special place I have to go to capture QR codes?  And, once I’ve got it, do I just tap it to execute whatever it’s supposed to do?

And does anyone have thoughts about ESim vs sim card?
Thanks.
Tracy
