The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio and Opportunities for Ohioans
with Disabilities
To Sponsor Job Seekers Seminar for Ohioans who are Blind or Have Low Vision

Columbus, Ohio–The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio (NFB-O) and
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) are sponsoring a job
seekers seminar for Ohioans who are blind or have low vision. The
organizations are offering the training to address the staggering
disproportionate unemployment rate among citizens who are blind or have low
vision.

The training will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, 9:00 A.M. to 1:00
P.M. The event will be at The Columbus Worthington Doubletree by Hilton
Hotel at 175 Hutchinson Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43235
<https://www.google.com/maps/search/175+Hutchinson+Ave.,+Columbus,+Ohio+43235?entry=gmail&source=g>.
Attendees will learn how Ohio’s vocational rehabilitation system can help
them find work, write a resume, benefit from assistive technology, prepare
for in-person and virtual job interviews, and put their best foot forward
in the workplace.

Participants will also hear from public and private employers interested in
hiring individuals who are blind or have low vision. In addition,
presenters will discuss self-employment opportunities. The NFB-O and OOD
recommend that attendees wear professional attire appropriate for
networking with employers. To attend, individuals must register in advance.

The NFBO is the state affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind,
