How God Sees You
If you could see yourself the way God sees you, it would be a totally different picture than the image in your own mind. For some people, loving themselves doesn’t come easy. In fact, many don’t even like themselves. In their minds, everyone around them is smarter, more talented, and more beautiful. And since you don’t “measure up” in your mind, you imagine everyone else feels the same way. But, oh, how different we would feel about ourselves if we could just look through God’s eyes and see what He sees . . . the person He created you to be. He sees you as His perfect creation, His child who is uniquely different from anyone else. No two people are the same, not even identical twins. Everyone is precious in His sight! There aren’t “classes of people” to whom He passes out His love in increments according to their worth! He loves all His children equally, and when He created you, He didn’t make a mistake! God’s infinite love for you is personal and everlasting! He doesn’t cross you off His “favorites” list when you stumble and fall, then demote you to a group of people classified as not worthy and on “probation.” God never stops loving you . . . not ever! He forgives, forgets, and keeps on loving you. He loves you more than anyone else possibly could, and He wants you to love yourself too. There’s a huge difference in naturally loving yourself as God’s perfect creation and loving yourself so much that you are conceited, arrogant, and proud. Being puffed up with pride is a sin and that’s not the kind of self-love that God wants. Love the person He created you to be and use every talent for His honor and glory. Thank God as David did in Psalm 139:14: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful.” When you’re tempted to compare yourself to the rest of humanity, remember, it’s not important how others see you. It’s much more important how you see yourself and, most of all, how God sees you. TEXT: Isaiah 64:8, Job 33:4, Luke 12:6-7, Isaiah 43:4
