Please get sold tickets and money for the parents gift card drawing
to Carol Akers early next week. She must have them before Friday. Send
everything to Carol Akers 80 Morse Rd., Apt B. Columbus OH 43214.
I hope you are all buying and selling tickets for our iPad drawing.
Tom Ruth has sold 45 at last count that I had. I want to Thank Tom and
acknowledge that he is significantly ahead of me in sales. That is a huge
acknowledgement on my part. It is almost as bad as losing a competition to
Mark McClain.
Representative Marcy Kaptur is the latest Ohio cosponsor to be added
to H.R. 164. Barbara Pierce's team met with her office during the Washington
Seminar.
The Cleveland chapter is having a representative from Marcia Fudge's
office come to the May meeting. All of us need to do this. Congratulations
William H., and chapter.
By now I hope everyone has signed the petition to change the law so that it
is no longer legal to pay sub minimum wages to workers with disabilities. If
you have not done so please do it by the board meeting next Saturday. Go to
https://www.nfb.org/fair-wages-petition
Richard Payne please pay special attention to this paragraph. The
next Scrip order is due by 7:00 PM., May 5. Please get signed up for Scrip
and create a Presto Pay account in time to order in May.

We are continuing to make progress in our effort to have a
successful BELL Program in Ohio. We now have at least five students who have
applied. Please help us spread the word to recruit children ages four to
twelve. We will also be conducting a seminar for all parents of blind
children at the end of the program regardless of whether or not their
children have participated in the BELL Program. We still need funding for
BELL. If your chapter or division has not made a contribution in support of
BELL please consider doing so immediately.
Next Thursday I will have kidney stone surgery once again. But I
will continue working hard for our movement until then, and I will be ready
for our board meeting on Saturday.
