[Ohio-talk] Want to Participate in Survey about domestic Violence?

Hello Aleeha,
I understand how hard it is to find a Shelter which will accept a blind person.
Sometimes these Shelters are not just for Battered Women and their children.
Sometimes people who have violent behavior or have a History of stealing are also residents of this Shelter
too.
Some of these Shelters are reluctant because they do not know how to assist Rebbidents who are blind or have
other Physical Disabilities.
Some Shelters require residents to leave during the day. Some shelters serve meals at another
site.
I understand that it is helpful for a person to find shelter in a safe place.
Sometimes the abuser will still bother someone in a Private Home.
If people are in a shelter services kick in quicker.
People can be moved up quicker if they are in a shelter.
Personally, I would consider having a blind woman from another part of Ohio or Michigan stay here.
I think sometimes this is the only option.
Most shelters are not wheelchair accessible.
