Dear Suzanne,

How are you doing? I hope that you will be among those going to Baltimore in
April; sounds very interesting.

I saw the job below and thought some you know might be interested.

Let me know what's new with you.

Best wishes, link below,
Elizabeth

For 45 years, Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) has responded to Micah's
call to do justice by building right relationships in community. LMM's
conception was a reaction to the pain of the urban unrest of the 1960s;
specifically, the upheaval in the Hough area of Cleveland. Beginning as a
grassroots, advocacy organization of Lutherans in 1969, with the leadership
of founding executive director Rev. Richard E. Sering, LMM grew and created
programs to carry out our mission "to promote shalom (peace, well-being) and
justice (right relationships) through a Christian ministry of service and
advocacy with those who are oppressed, forgotten and hurting." Community
support for LMM grew through government contracts, foundation and corporate
grants, a broad range of individual donors and the involvement of other
faith communities. Today, with the partnership of myriad community agencies
as well as more than 3,500 volunteers, LMM serves and advocates with persons
involved in the criminal justice system, youth at-risk, people with
long-term care needs and people who are homeless. In 2013, 9,992 people
received services including shelter care and finding stable housing, case
management, work readiness and job placement, mentoring, life skills and
social skill development. LMM's newest initiative involves the development
of social enterprises, providing training and work experiences for LMM
program participants moving out of poverty, into self-sufficiency.
Additionally, LMM has successfully completed its capital campaign, Building
on the Promise. The campaign exceeded the $5.5 million goal with more than
$5,560,000 in private support raised and an additional $1.6 million in
public funds for the new Richard Sering Center located at E. 45th & Superior
in the St. Clair/Superior neighborhood.
