I have not yet used the Orbit20 Reader, but I have read about it, and
would like to make two points. First, I think what it does, in part
will depend on whether or not you use it as a stand-alone device, or
with a screen reader. Presumably some of them will drive it.
Secondly, compromises were made in its design, to hold down the
cost. For example, there are no routing dots. Also, the refresh rate
is different from what we are used too. It was designed primarily as
a reader, not an interactive refreshable Braille display.
So, people are getting their hopes up, and may be disappointed. It
isn't going to do everything well, not for $500.
