Dear Members of the Jobs and Rehab Listservs,

I know some of you are interested in self-employment and/or business opportunities. Edward Cohen of Rochester, MN offers both. He has marketed his low vision planner for years, and he is now trying to expand his business. I know him and trust him. So if you are interested, please read the attached or below and contact him directly. He is not a member of either of these lists, so responding to the list won’t help you reach him.

Best wishes,

Dick Davis

Hello Dick,

Below is my offering. I’ve also attached it. This required much sole searching and thinking about the future. All in all, not a bag exercise.

It’s longer than I had planned. Please let me know if this is what you had in mind.

Thank you again for your interest and help,

Edward Cohen

Hello Entrepreneurs,

This will be a different sort of announcement. I am a legally-blind senior. Like many in my situation who maintain an active schedule, I couldn’t find a weekly planner that met my needs. It had to use large, black san serif fonts. It couldn’t fill up the page with things too small for me to see and it had to be designed to be durable and portable.

After years of frustration with what was available, in early 2015 I created and showed the first version of a weekly planner that I could finally see. I showed it to friends and others who were dealing with the same challenges. All of them either wanted one or knew someone who would. I was urged to produce them in order to help lots of people.

After I realized how many people could benefit from this product and much soul-searching, in late 2015 I started my company called EZ2See® Products. In 2017 I secured a registered trademark for the term, E Z 2 See. Currently the calendar is my only product. Yet with the proper help, other promising products I have in mind could happen.

I didn’t come out of retirement to do this because I needed to earn a living, but rather as my way of giving back to my community. It is a humbling feeling to know I’m doing something that makes a real difference in a person’s life. It is possible to do well while doing well.

About the Product

This product is 8.5” by 11”, spiral-bound with laminated covers. It retails for around $20. You can see and buy it on the internet from my website <https://www.ez2seeproducts.com/> and also from Anazon.com, eBay, Independent Living Aids, Blind Mice Mart, GoCalendar, Lighthouses in multiple cities across the US.

Since starting, I’ve learned three things. One, people love this product. Two, the potential market is in the mid-twenty millions and third, without a team to help me, few of those who might want it will ever learn of it. So with the help of Dick Davis, that’s what brings me to writing you.

The type of Person I am Seeking

I need help in most every aspect of a growing business. I know that covers a lot of territory. At this point, I’m not in a position to hire employees. What I can do is either pay for specific services and work or share the profits that we create together. While anyone who ends up joining my team will bring their unique qualities, they all need to be energetic and self-motivated. Depending on what role you perform, it can be done at home or travel as you choose.

Skills I’m Seeking

If you answer yes to any of these questions, we should talk.

Do you have a background in such areas as marketing, sales, advertising, or project management?

Do you have a background in product design, printing or graphics?

Are you particularly good and like to do research?

Can you extract online information and convert it into other usable formats?

Are you very familiar with social media or email marketing?

Do you know your way around Google Analytics?

Are you associated with such groups as the diabetes community, a faith community, rehabilitation professionals, vision care professionals, blind and low vision support groups, senior groups or associations or anything similar?

Do you have a good sense of your state’s blind or rehabilitation services programs?

Do you live in a large independent senior living community?

Are you a veteran who would like to help other veterans learn of this product?

Are you a “people person” who likes talking in-person or on the phone and want to help people?

Are you comfortable learning what you need to know and then calling businesses and/or organizations to introduce this product?

I am also interested in talking to anyone with a strong business background who is interested in taking on a management-level or partner role.

Calling All Salespeople

Are you good at and like sales? If so, consider the following options.

If you just want to pass out flyers with your personal sales code on them, you’ll receive a check for 10% of all the orders I receive each month that have included your unique sales code. I provide the flyer for you to copy.

You may buy the calendars at a discount and resell them. Your discount starts at 20% off for a partial box or 30% on a full box. A full box holds 20 calendars. Your discount increases with larger orders. Pass on the savings, use it as a fundraiser or sell them for more and pocket the difference. You might need to collect and pay your state’s sales tax.

Consider being an Independent Sales Agent. This means, if you interact with businesses and organizations and they eventually issue a purchase order, you will receive a commission ranging from 15% to 20% on the whole order. I can offer numerous sales avenues for you to pursue.

Planning for the Future

The 2018 calendar is on sale. By the spring of 2018, orders for the 2019 will begin to arrive. Orders taking advantage of “Early Bird” prices are due by May 4, 2018. Let me know if you’d like to learn more about how to be part of this.
