[Pibe-division] BANA Article on UEB & Nemeth

Good morning,

For those who are unaware (and interested), there is an article on the
BANA website dated September 6, 2012, in which they describe how they
plan to incorporate the use of Nemeth within a UEB transcription. This
article reads quite differently than what the Press Release announcement
of a vote in November seemed to indicate with the statement, "The
direction under consideration is the adoption of Unified English Braille
while maintaining the Nemeth Code for technical materials." I
understood that statement to mean that the Nemeth Code would still be
kept for all of the higher math transcription - not that it would be
embedded within a UEB transcription.

If nothing else, take time to read the SUMMARY OF FINDINGS AND
RECOMMENDATIONS, on the final page. At the very end, it states, "This
report was accepted by the board of the Braille Authority of North
America on September 10, 2012."
