The United States Association of Blind Athletes is pleased to announce the
dates for the 2010 USABA Sports Festival & Mission Vision Program sponsored
by Transitions Optical and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Vision & Disability
Speciality Products.  USABA is expecting a group of nearly 100 athletes and
coaches of all ages and all abilities to participate in this week-long
program in Colorado Springs, CO.  For additional information, please contact

WHEN:  July 28 - August 2
 
DEADLINE TO APPLY: June 1, 2010
 
WHO:  All individuals of all ages; including disabled Veterans and disabled
members of the Armed Forces, who are blind or visually impaired
 
WHAT:  The U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) Sports Festival and
Mission Vision program provides athletes who are blind or visually impaired,
from all over the United States a unique opportunity to participate in the
Rocky Mountain State Games.  Athletes will train, learn, refine their skills
and compete alongside their sighted peers in various sports clinics
instructed by USABA national coaches.  With the opportunity to hone your
athletic skills, you will be empowered to elevate your sport to a higher
level and take your improved game back into your own local community-based
programs.


WHERE:  Colorado Springs, CO
 
COST:  Program participants must pay their own way to get to Colorado
Springs.  All program participants must be a member of the USABA in order to
participate in the Sports Festival / Mission Vision Program.  USABA
membership is dependent on age: $25 under 21 and $35 for 21 and over.
Program participants must also pay a $175 non-refundable program fee.  The
program fee covers room and board from July 28 - August 2, ground
transportation, any entry fees and a t-shirt.  Monies are available to
selected disabled Veterans and disabled members of the Armed Forces who are
blind or visually impaired to help off-set travel, lodging and meal costs.
 
All program participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a
parent, guardian or coach.
 
ROCKY MOUNTAIN STATE GAMES SPORTS:  Archery, Cycling Time Trial, Cycling
Road Race, Judo, Powerlifting, Track & Field, Triathlon, Wrestling & 5K run.
Previous competition experience required in judo, triathlon & wrestling.
