Bill,

You might want to check and see if there are tandem clubs in your area. 
Perhaps there are other teams in your area and you could ride with them and 
if you could stoke with them you could try the kinds of bikes they have. 
Craigslist is a good source to find used bikes. There is also a tandem 
classifieds section on the tandem mag website.

You might also try signing up at:
www.bicycling.org and see if there are any other tandem pilots/captains or 
stokers in your area who might have a bike to test ride.

Who knows, you might discover potentian pilots to ride with or other blind 
stokers who are interested in fitness.
