Michelle,

No state rehab offices do not pay for exercise classes or gym memberships.
It’s a leisure activity.

In terms of third party payment, yes under certain circumstances, this is
possible.

Yes, some health care plans do partially pay for gym memberships, I've
heard.
If you need the class or exercise instruction for preventative measures,
your medical doctor can refer you to a physical therapist which is covered
by insurance. Also if you are exercising for weight loss, I think insurance
or medicare might also chip in.

Another way to have it paid for or partially paid for is if you are an
employee of certain corporations; sometimes that's an employee benefit.
If you work for the department of defense, and maybe some other federal
agencies, you can use their military gyms for free.
I also know that colleges and universities offer a gym to its students for
free. Sometimes they offer classes like zumba as well.
If you are an alumni of the school, you can probably access its fitness
facility for free.

In terms of finding an affordable class, I think local recreation centers
run by your city or county will be most affordable. I looked at the rates
for fairfax county here which runs classes every season. The classes average
like $12 per class but you pay that in full up front.

Anyway, that's what I know about payment.

HTH,
Ashley

I agree this is a good approach as well
Advertising on Craig's list for an instructor (local) might work
Also checking with state re-hab offices (will they pay for this? ) or some
health care providers pay for
preventative exercise classes.....Where there is a will there is a way !

Contacting the co.s would be a total waste of time and energy. In spite of
them being trademarked fitness programs virtually every instructor will
modify moves, sequence, level of intensity etc. The easiest and likely most
effective thing would be to speak to the instructor privately and perhaps
arrange a couple private classes to learn the moves as well as to "teach"
the instructor to be more verbal with his/her cues so you can keep up. You
may have to pay for those private lessons but that might be something you
can resolve with the fitness center manigement. Remember instructors are
payed by the class so in their case time is money.

Zumba and jazzercize are very difficult to follow as questions are visual.
Both companies should be contacted to arrange for accommodations.

Michelle.
Thoughts are things. Make them good ones!!
