[Sportsandrec] Question about triathlons

Ivonne,

Thanks for the suggestion. Will see what we can come up with. We definitely
want full use of our arms.

Another question, for practice, we are just in a pool with roped off lanes,
which help me swim straighter. However, as I rotate my body with each
stroke, I find I lose my orientation, particularly on my left side. Any
tips, thoughts, how do others do things?

Sorry, this is just the first time I've done a race as a blind person. This
is all new to me as well as my partner.

Thanks.

Bridgit

Hi Bridgit,

Tethering for the swim will definitely be the way to go. I recommend
tethering just below your knee to just below your guide's knee. This Will
allow both of you to use your arms completely without worrying about hitting
the tether. Use a stretchy material for the tether, but keep it shorter
rather than longer- maybe 15-30 inches- experiment with it.

Hope that helps.
