Marion, You write very well, and kept my interest throughout this entire piece. If I could offer two pieces of advice--tears of pure joy is kind of cliche, and you might try find a different/new way to phrase that. The second can be summed up with my favorite Elmore Leonard quote, "Easy on the exclamation points!" Nice job. chris
