Dear Stylist,
This is a reminder that the spring deadline for submissions for the
Slate & Style is a few weeks away.
If you wish your work to be considered for the spring issue, please send
it no later than April 3.
Again, literature submissions are encouraged, but I am looking for
articles about writing, all forms of writing-- discussing tools,
techniques, structure and form, genre, etc.
In fact, here is a list of potential writing styles to consider. If you
have knowledge on one, or more, think about submitting an article, up to
1500 words, by April 3.
Public relations writing-- IE, news releases, web writing, informational
backgrounders, fact sheets, PR plans, speeches
Magazine writing
Journalism and newsletter writing
Cookbook writing
Textbook writing
Musical composition and lyric writing
Poetry-- form and structure, imagery, styles, visual forms
Prose fiction-- characters, dialogue, setting, metaphor, sensory
descriptions, genres, structure
Memoirs , personal essays and other forms of creative nonfiction-- point
of view, format, memoir vs. autobiography, audience
Editing
This list is not exhaustive, nor does it entertain every aspect of each
individual form of writing.
Remember, it is up to us to keep Slate & Style in circulation, and in
order to grow, it will require a collective effort.
Send all submissions along with questions and comments to
bpollpeter at hotmail.com
Sincerely,
Bridgit Kuenning Pollpeter
Editor, Slate & Style
