Shawn, I can't remember if I had commented but I can nod and agree with
Jackie here... you do make us think and your imagination is superb. The
house on legs is actually I'm accustomed so that really did make me smile..

Shawn,
What an imagination. I like the description of your characters: Alex and
Igor, but particularly, I love the "legs" supporting the house, their
angular bendings and rolling gait.
I wish I had a house on legs that would take me out of this heat to the
coast of Oregon!
The house of Baba Yaga with its silo concept is original and intriguing.
The
colors in her studio, the vistas from higher up.
I was not expecting an ending returning Alex to his home.
I used to be intrigued by science fiction, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451
still to be read, but since trying to write a science fiction story for a
college class, I find it frustrating.
Also, I spend all of my spare time listening to the advances in science
that
are giving our lives a science fiction quality now.
I do not like to think about leaving this world without knowing what will
happen in the next thirty years. It will be a different world for all of
you.
Keep writing. You make us think.
Jackie

I am attaching a story I submitted several years ago to the writer's
contest.

Recently, I used it in a writer's workshop at Balticon (a local science
fiction convention); we read the first few paragraphs of our work; then we
went out and savaged each others stuff in the spirit of constructive
criticism. As a result, I decided to clean the story up and hope to send
it
out to magazines in the near future.

Please let me know what you think.
