It's from Jesse's point of view.  He's the completely nonverbal twin.  He 
has only three signs in his vocabulary.  His "baby communication" is getting 
better though: leading you places, pulling you to what he wants ...

Barbara,

This was an interesting poem. It made me think--is the narrator you, or one
of your kids, or who? All my questions weren't answered, which I actually
like in a poem. Nice work.
