No problem at all! I have posted so seldom because of my husband's illness
and death, that my name probably wouldn't seem familiar. I understood, and
that's why I wrote.

Phyllis

Phyllis, I am so sorry I missed your name in the table of contents of BOE
A Second Look... I knew I'd probably miss someone along the way.
And thank you Shawn for posting the table of contents.. I tried to copy
and paste and found that is something you are not allowed to do it seems.
congratulations to all!

Good Morning all,
There is some information on Amazon about the book, but as everybody has
learned to our disappointment no TOC or way to read a sample of the work.
My piece "A Long Way Home" appears there so far as I know.
My apologies for not posting more than I have. My husband of forty-five
years passed away in May after a long illness, during which I was his only
caregiver. Now, I'm wading through paperwork, and attempting to forge
what
just about amounts to a new life. I do hope to be more active.
Happy and successful writing.
Phyllis
Ashley,
As I understand it, Behind Our Eyes is a journal of writing contributed by
blind people -- us telling our own stories. The first edition came out
years
ago (2007, I think), and that one is on NLS's BARD site. They recently took
submissions for a second edition, which is apparently out, though there
doesn't seem to have been much done yet to notify the contributors or put
it
into an accessible format. It is put together by the folks who put out
Magnets & Ladders, which is an online magazine featuring the work of
people
with disabilities. The group is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
HTH,
Donna

And what is behind our eyes? Is this just a book or more?

Hi All,
I visited the Behind Our Eyes website and couldn't find any indication that
the new book is out. I Googled it and the first edition was there on
Amazon,
but I haven't found the one that Lynda and Myrna saw. So, I wrote to them,
telling them of our discussion today and that Bridgit wants to acknowledge
the contributors in Slate & Style. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
