Eve,
What a charming little poem. The sounds you heard are unusual, and
particularly the teacher's assignment of using "ip." You have worked it in
well.
Also, it is a good strategy for starting to memorize. Rhymes and repetition
of phrases or lines also help.
You have given a good prompt to those of us who must stay home.
Thanks for sharing,
Jackie

Subject: [stylist] not another convention notice

Hey all, as someone who does not get to go to Orlandext week, I am
getting very tired of all of the convention notices and nothing else
on all of the NFB LISTS serves. Because of this I thought I would post
something a little different. I have started going to this poetry walk
group on Wednesday evenings. We take a little walk or hike in a
different nature type of lccation each week, at sunset and then create
at that time. We recite and polish. It is fun and inspirational. This
is the little poem I wrote this evening. When I say 'write' i mean put
to memory as I have no way of writing and reading without my laptop.
This actually is a great exercise for me to learn to memorize as I am
not very good at that. Well, I have attached above and will try to
past below (if my computer cooperates). We did have an
assignment from the group leader to use "ip" in the piece in whatever
way we find appropriate. Hope this puts a smile on those that are
likewise not going to convention and may form as inspiration for those
that do.

Take Notice

Wind singing in the boughs,
"Che che che che che che."
"Jiju jiju." ,
Calls the unseen crawlers.
"Twee twee, ip ip ip ip, caw.",
On the wing.
All unnoticed by hooved grazers,
Sacred with soulful eyes.
Imprisoned behind
Four strands of barbs
While the sun sets
On another day.
