Hi Michael,

I definitely think it's possible to write about blindness in a humorous, but
not  disparaging way. Mr. Magoo isn't funny because it equates blindness to
stupidity. And yet, I've read a number of pieces by and about blind people
that are hilarious because of how they are told.They tend to make the
situation the butt of the joke--not the blind individual. 

Feel free to post your story, and you'll probably get a few people to read
and respond honestly to it.
