Hey Tessa,

Sorry I didn't get to your email sooner, but actually, you research much the
same way I do. It takes time and effort and often searching using various
terms, but I always think about how much easier it is for us today than for
blind writers 25 or more years ago.

One additional thought. In my first (unpublished) novel, one of my
characters was a WWII vet--more specifically, a bombadier on a B-17 bomber,
and I wanted to describe a mission. This is hard because I'm totally blind,
and don't have access to such a plane. But, what I found was a blog by the
daughter of exactly the guy I needed (she transcribed his diaries and all
the info she could find about his mates, his missions, etc...). So, I
contacted her and asked her to ask her father some questions for me, which
she was happy to do. It didn't give me all the detail I would have liked,
but it sure helped, especially with things like the temperature (the plane
had no heat, so it was very cold on missions).

Anyway, good luck.

Chris

Thank you all for your suggestions, apparently I just wasn't making my
google searches specific enough.
I definitely appreciate the suggestions and advice.
