Hi Chris,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, and for your honest feedback.
I think you might be right, as I was considering pulling the plug on it and perhaps trying something else. I think I still want to give the contest a try, even if gothic writing isn't natural for me.
Good luck on your own story. Maybe if you take a break from it and come back to it, it will be easier to revise and continue.
