[Stylist] Writing at night

I know a lot of people who keep writing utensils on or in their nightstand
so if inspiration strikes them while in bed, they have something nearby to
jot ideas down on. Personally, I rarely have ideas once in bed. If I do, I
usually wait for morning or use a voice recorder.

Subject: [Stylist] Writing at night

Hi,
I know the answers to this question are going to vary, but I'm still very
curious about peoples' thoughts.
If you come up with a new idea for a story or poem while already lying down
in bed, do you get out of bed and start writing while it's still fresh, even
if you know you will lose sleep? Or do you just store the idea in your head
and wait until you have some time the next day to write it down?
Thanks,
Vejas
