Good morning, Aishwarya,

Well, I hope this is good news. I was not going to send 3D printer files. I don't even know how yet. But I can send drawings that would show the three views of the boat, or maybe more if it seems useful. One image would be of the right-hand side of the boat if it was balanced on its hull on land. The next image would be if you walked to the right, around to the front of the boat and looked at the contours of the front of the boat. The third view would show you the boat's form from a bird's eye view, it would be as if you were hovering above the boat and looking at the structures on the deck.

Each view gives you information that added together with the information you get from the other images to a more complete understanding of the shape of the boat. From that you can sculpt your model.

It doesn't sound like you have a swell machine but maybe a school or organization you are in contact with does. If you do find access to this machine you will be able to make raised line drawings. The folks who have the machine will be able to give or sell you some paper to print out the files. Then they can show you how to use the machine so that you can raise up the lines in the picture. These machines are very accessible so ask to be shown how to run it.

When you are asking about the machine, mention the names, Zychem, PIAF and Reprotronics, the three manufactures that I know of.

If that is not possible, but you can get paper and a pen and a person who can trace lines for you, you are back in business. Ideally, if you can get cardstock or Braille paper, paper around 100 pound weight, and print out the images. (I would print the images on the largest size of paper that you have available. But be sure to keep the parts of the images in the same scale so that they relate directly to each other.) That is best. But if you only have copy paper, around 20 pound weight, that can work too, it is just less durable.

Instruct your tracer to pile up about eight sheets of paper and place the print out image on top. Press firmly enough with the pen to create a raised line on the opposite side of the paper. Stop and check as the drawing progresses.

If you are working with the person through this process, ask them to outline the hull of the side view first. Then outline the hull in the front view and then the hull in the top view, this will be the deck of the boat. Once you understand the shape of the hull you will understand the primary structure of this boat/ship. The rest of the features all grow from this shape. So if you have a firm understanding of the hull you will be able to understand a lot about what is governing the rest of the features that you will next add into your pictures.

Here is a file that you can work from with your tracer. Google is amazing! https://getoutlines.com/blueprints/18186/1911-rms-titanic-blueprints

If you would like to see how an additive picture can develop, pull up this video and watch it with your tracer. It will explain some of the possibilities. I am sure you will come up with a good work flow within a few minutes.

@Ann and Lindsay

Dear Ann,

As always, your feedback encourages me to continue doing such art
work. Unfortunately, I don't have access to 3D printing. But I will
look up and if anyone I know has it, I will let you know. Thank you so
much for the thought of sharing the multi view sketches. :)
My next project is Titanic and I am so looking forward to finishing
it. Will share its pic here once its done.

Dear Lindsay,
I am glad you enjoyed the description. Hopefully you'll get to touch
them one day. Yes, some blind adults did touch the models and did
enjoy the experience as much as the blind children.
I haven't listened to the 'Pyramid song', but I am going to once I've
sent this email. :)

With regards,
Aishwarya.
