[TAGS] My new 3D tactile painting

This is a remarkable product Aishwarya!

Your paintings are becoming more adventurous in communicating deeper and
deeper space, and in "Secret Woods" you have provided us with a terrific
example of the use of two different techniques for representing deep space!

First, you are using the vertical dimension of the painting to represent
depth by placing things that are much farther away at the top of the
painting, and things that are much closer to the picture plane at the
bottom of the painting. Next, you are using the technique of overlapping to
show us how objects that are close to the picture plane are arranged
relative to each other. For example, the overlapping of the log and deer on
the water makes it very clear that those objects are closer to us than the
water.

Looking at your painting and imagining my hands running over the surfaces
leads me to imagine the distant roar of the waterfall, and the softer
sounds of the deer lapping the water and walking through the tall grass. It
is very relaxing to experience your painting in this way.
