[Trainer-talk] Issue With Hyper Links

Barbara,
I think that you and I are in agreement regarding bypassing the
favorites bar particularly for users dependent on the keyboard. Pressing
ctrl-D is the quickest way of adding a Web site to the favorites menu.
Google Chrome should be fairly usable with JAWS although I admit that I
have not used version 23 of Chrome which is currently the latest
version. I've done more testing with NVDA than I have with JAWS but I
have done some testing with JAWS and it should work, more or less.
Google Chrome has been known to work well and then suddenly something
gets broken when a new release comes out. This happened a while ago
regarding navigating combo boxes. For a while it seemed to work and
then suddenly a new version of Chrome came out and it was totally
broken. It now works, at least a version or two back, but you may find
that JAWS reads extra verbeage when navigating through items contained
within a combo box. I've also noticed that often the first page which
is loaded doesn't load into the screen reader's virtual buffer. In
plain English what this means is that the page may load visually but
will not be readable by the screen reader until a new page is loaded.
As I've said I've not done testing with version 23 of Chrome with
version 14 of JAWS.
