[Trainer-talk] GPS apps

The Applevis site is perhaps the most comprehensive place to keep up on iOS
apps that are useful.

BlindSquare is a new one, currently costing $11 but destined to go up, which
uses data from FourSquare. You can put in your own POI's, and if the POI
has been entered by somebody else into FourSquare, it will show up here. It
has potential.

Two free ones for looking around the environment are where (it's the first
app that comes up when you search for "where" in the app store," and white
and Yellow Pages. Both suffer from having outdated databases, but to the
extent the databases are accurate, you can put in an address to find out
what is around a place in many categories, and then call the businesses. W
and y pages will give you turn-by-turn directions.

Thanks for the info on Navigon which just saved me $50! So I have Around me
and Cendero LookAround on my iPhone; are there other apps that both are
useful GPS tools AND accessible with VoiceOver?

Also, in a separate thought, I just acquired an iPad and want to sun all 16
apps from my iPhone to the iPad. Some of the apps were free and some were
purchased throughiTunes. How can I sunc the apps to the iPad so I will have
identical apps on both devices?

Thanks, Wise Ones!
