Exactly.  That's what I did regarding reinstalling.  I checked everything
out before installing.
Here's the deal.  I've used Skype with this computer flawlessly for a while
now.  I hadn't used it in about three weeks, so when it was time to do so,
this happened.  I'd done nothing different, except for now removing and
reinstalling it.

You most likely accidentally checked a box that you did not want to
check...you do not need to go this route...be very careful when you set up
skype as there are boxes auto checked and if you hit next...well, you will
have issues

Make sure you have the latest skype scripts from doug lee also to make it
work well

I would just reload skype --so uninstall then reinstall and be very careful
as you set it up--tab through every dialog box before you go to next
