[Trainer-talk] Trainer-talk Digest, Vol 121, Issue Filling out a form--need help

You know, I generally turn that off but JAWS generally mentions that the document is in protective mode but it didn't say anything about that this time. I'll try it again. The rest of that question is whether it is possible to actually fill it out or not. I had trouble when the PDF form was sent to me and I tried filling it out. One problem is the _____
Which I take out with the find and replace. Then when I went back to do a save as for another person, they were back in again. Is that because it is a PDF? Anyway, I'll try it out again. Actually, if I take the word one off protective mode, perhaps it will work.

Thanks.

Hello everyone,

Recently Alaska has combined their library service with Utah's. So, I need to fill out a different form and I have begun to look at one that our library has pposted on line. I attempted to get both the PDF and word docx to work with no luck. I was wondering if someone would try it and let me know what is wrong. I had not luck with either even when I saved the PDF with shift/control/S. When I opened the word document, JAWS stopped working. Thanks for letting me know what you think. They are willing to fix any problems but I'd like to let them know just what the problem is. Here's the link:

Thanks very much.

Bonnie, I did download the Docx application. Since I downloaded it from the internet it is protected and you need to turn off the protection.

When you open the document:
1. Hit the alt key
2. Hit the f key.
3. Hit the s key and you will hear a musical tone.
4. Hit the e key.

This should remove the protected view and JAWS will read it. This is true for all Docx files so your computer doesn't get infected. There is another way to accomplish the same thing but it doesn't work on my computer so I forgot what it is.
