The job has basic training that comes on your original John's desk is very good for beginners. Are usually do not start with the installation part, as I usually have installed it for them. After that, it is helpful for learning the commands. Fun with type ability is good for learning about dialog boxes and interacting with windows. Freedom scientific's other free webinars are also good.

I often tell my grate grandma "click the start button in the bottom left” (she is not technologically advanced, it’s not a computer to her but a confuser) and it helps me taler communicating computer skills with people who wouldn’t normally use the keyboard.

I believe one of the most lacking things about blind computer users is that they never learn the visual aspects of a computer screen. To them it's all keyboard commands. And although that's important and very quick and speedy the thing that I've learned from my own clients is that they appreciate if they once had site that I still explain everything incited terms such as the start button is at the bottom left the clock is at the bottom right the desktop takes up two thirds of the top of the screen so on and so forth. I even tell them what the Wi-Fi icon looks like the Bluetooth icon looks like because it's important in the workplace for them to communicate stuff like that to the coworkers because then they're speaking the same language as the coworkers around them.

I plan to explain and teach the navigation of the desktop and how to open files and then go over how to read the screen with jaws in the first few lessons. Are there resources for beginning jaws you can suggest? I am considering purchasing the NBP book about windows 7. I’m hoping to have demos of jaws for her to hear as a review rather than just notes I write up. So, webinars or videos on jaws would be good; like youtube videos for instance. Also, if you have ideas for free texts about computer concepts or websites explaining them, that would be good. There are not many free textbooks out there, but sometimes I can find free etexts online for other subjects, so thought I’d ask.
