[Trainer-Talk] learning jaws with health challenges

Hi Ashley,
For clients with reduced sensitivity in their fingers, you can mark certain keys with bits of Velcro or bump dots. I have found that the rough side of Velcro seems to work well to give these clients landmarks on the keyboard.

Best,
Greg

Subject: [Trainer-Talk] learning jaws with health challenges

Hi all,

I’m volunteer tutoring jaws at a talking book library.
My next student is a young senior with recent vision loss; like within the past 2 years. In addition, she has a health challenge. This issue is limited sensativity in her hands. I’m concerned she won’t feel the keys. You have to feel one key from another to use jaws. Has anyone had success teaching jaws to someone with neuropathy?

Thanks.

Ashley
