I always recommend Olympus recorders. The Olympus DM Dash 720 is perhaps the best one that they have made for what you’re needing. There are others that have a lot more bells and whistle’s as well.

I also recommend a great reporter called the Eltrinex, which was generally designed for blind users. It has four folders and can record in small MP3 files as well as wav files. from my iPhone XR!
