I really like what Mike Calvo is doing with rim. And I guess it’s going to be working with on the Mac platform as well. And these new pay-as-you-go passes with $25 for five hours or $50 for 15 hours and it lets you top off before your time runs out and you can use that time anytime up to a year. I will certainly pay that. Had to be able to pick any keyword that you want. I’ll pay for that access myself and use it with my employer when I need it and not even squawk about it.
We used the old rim at Services For The Blind here inservices For The Blind here in Washington state. when it was under Serotek. We put it on most of our clients computers and kept a calendar so we could share the license, and allowed our trainers to use it, and it came in quite handy. It used system access to go as the screen reader, and it was OK. But it’s been completely rewritten and if you read the white paper on the Numa solutions website it is an entirely new program now. and I would say that it is well worth the price.

Yes, I have been using RIM, and find it to be very stable and reliable.
It is simple to download, and install.
What convinced me to give it a try, is that Brian Hartgen is using it for all of his tech support.
One of the best features of RIM that I think is a huge advantage, is the ability to restart a computer while in a RIM session, and have the RIM session automatically resume upon restart.
I see this as a complete game changer when providing support or training.

I haven't tried RIM at all, but I'm wondering if it has any stability
advantages over JAWS Tandem in cases where the trainee runs JAWS. I find
Tandem crashes sometimes.
For those not familiar with it, RIM stands for Remote Incident Manager, from
Pneuma Solutions.
Thanks for any insight.
