Good morning everyone:

For over a year, National Federation of the Blind's Travel & Tourism
Division has had dialogue with Essential Accessibility about the Greyhound
Website and customer service they have been offering. As you know, several
people wrote up a resolution and it was passed at the National Convention.

Yesterday, officers of the travel and tourism division, and members of the
National Office had an update with Essential Accessibility, who works with
Greyhound and other companies about accessibility, they are not a blind
organization, but they are helping to get this dialogue going for us.

We will have updates available for you on our website at www.nfbtravel.org
<http://www.nfbtravel.org> once our Secretary, John Tebockhorst, has the
information from yesterday.

We hope you will look at the NFB Travel & Tourism for information and maybe
even join the division. We are not about being travel agents, in fact, I am
the only one, who is an agent. Our division is about dependent accessible
travel, whether it is traveling alone, with a group or other forms of
transportation. Whether you are traveling locally, throughout the country or
the world.

Our next teleconference division call is Monday, January 18th at 7PM Eastern
Time, 6PM Central, 5PM Mountain, 4PM Pacific. Our call in number is

(641) 715-3273 and the access code is 871517#

Also there will be an article in the Braille Monitor, under monitor
miniatures in the February edition about recent face-to-face meeting with
Norwegian Cruise Lines Access Manager (Cathy Vazquez), and also the owner,
Andrew Garnett, of www.specialneedsgroup.com
<http://www.specialneedsgroup.com> (they do the brailling, guide dog relief
boxes, and other services like scooter, wheelchair rentals, special beds on
the cruise ships, and so much more), while we were on the newest ship,
Norwegian Escape, for the Christening back in November. These 2 people have
attended our meeting at National Convention back in 2014.

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
