Attached are three documents regarding our 2009 NFBV scholarship
program--The application, a checklist and a copy of the program described
below:

NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND OF VIRGINIA

2009 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The National Federation of the Blind of Virginia (NFBV) will award up to
three James F. Nelson, Jr. scholarships in the amount of $1500 at the
organization's annual state convention to be held November 13-15, 2009 in
historic Williamsburg, Virginia.

The scholarships will be awarded to recognize academic achievement and
community service by blind scholars. To be eligible for these awards, each
applicant must:

be legally blind,

be a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia or be attending school in the
commonwealth,

be pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time, postsecondary course of study
in the 2009 scholastic year, and

participate in the entire NFBV state convention and in all scheduled
scholarship program activities.

In addition to the scholarship, each recipient will be brought to the NFBV
state convention at the organizations expense. All scholarships will be
awarded at the convention banquet.

Deadline: All documentation must be received by September 15, 2009.

To Apply: Complete the 2009 Scholarship Application Form electronically and
e-mail it to mwroane at mindspring.com, then mail a print copy with all
required attachments to the NFBV Scholarship Committee. (Or contact the
committee chairman to receive a print copy to fill out and return by mail.)

The National Federation of the Blind of Virginia is an organization
dedicated to creating opportunity for all blind people. To that end,
recipients of NFBV James F. Nelson, Jr. scholarships need not be members of
the National Federation of the Blind of Virginia. Each applicant will be
considered for all scholarships for which he or she qualifies. All
scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence and community
service. Individuals who have applied in previous years are encouraged to
apply again.

The scholarship committee, consisting of successful blind college graduates,
will review all applications and select the scholarship recipients.
Recipients will be notified of their selection by telephone by October 15,
2009. All decisions of the scholarship committee are final.
