[blindkid] never stands still

Ok, I am probably going to get repremmanded for this, but just me
personally, it worries me, in our society when I see an email encouraging TV
watching as a way to keep kids still in reply to an email suggesting kids
get excersize and walk. This is no personal atack on you, your kids or your
parenting style. It just seemed ironic is all. Kid's brains when they are
watching TV actually resemble wave patterns of sleeping or half wakefulness,
where their brain waves during excersize and interactive play with adults
and peers are far different, alert and active patterns. I'm not trying to
throw stones from my glass house. Jeremy loves Martha Speaks and the Wonder
Pets, but I try to minimize TV watching, keep him moving and thinking. I
guess my reaction might have been different if we were discussing TV
programs easy for blind kids to see, because I do appreciate the suggestion
and feedback regarding a PBS show that is easy to see and understand for
blind or low vision children. But, seeing this right after an email
suggesting long walks with your kids. It just sort of made my teeth do that
thing like when you hear finger nails on a chalkboard.
