Hello Tommy,

A great question with no clear answer.

I am glad that you are an OT Assistanct student. Becoming an OT Assistant. A wonderful career. Glad you are on the list.

EMR programs are usually possible to use with some help from an adaptive engeneer, meaning someone who can write scripts for JAWS. As there are many, many electronic medical record programs, all different. Some are easier and some are more difficult.

Right now I’m having JAWS scripting done for the Athena EMR that my agency has just migrated to. I expect that it will be done soon. In the meantime I’m doing my work in Word and having documents scanned into the Athena EMR system. As a student intern getting Blind Services to write scripts may or may not be possible, depending on your Blind Services counselor and State.

Good luck.

Hello all, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I was
wondering if anyone has had experiences with different electronic medical
records. I am an occupational therapy assistant student, and am starting
full time field work in about a month. I use JAWS Professional, and I was
wondering which documentation software are accessible with JAWS and which
are not.
