*#2 Agenda:

-First- Come to order, introductions, say our NFB pledge

-Second- Special Guest: Recall, at our 2018 state convention, we made a
pledge to contact local care facilities for seniors, to share our knowledge
with those seniors who may live there and are experiencing blindness;
including relevant staff. To find our speaker, I went to the webpage for
the, Activity Professional's Association of Omaha (APAOmaha). Here is their
mission statement: Activity is the basis of life. Therefore, any program for
the elderly or disabled should simulate and reflect life. Activity programs
for the elderly or disabled should include some provisions for basic human
needs common to all people: spiritual, mental, emotional, social and
physical. Therefore, the Activity Professional's Association of Omaha will
aim to stimulate each individual to attain his/her highest level of
competency and function in each of these areas.

I spoke with Vicki Andress, Treasurer of APAOmaha, and either she or her
assistant, Ann, will join us on our call. Put on your thinking caps, we need
to ask the right questions to know what Vicki and her staff are facing. And,
we need to give the right kind of supportive information and/or suggestions.
All to help these very important professionals to carry out their mission of
making the activities, lives' of their blind and visually impaired residents
to simulate and reflect life. We in the National Federation of the Blind
know the negatives that blindness can bring. More importantly, we know how
to work the human potential to live and not allow any level of blindness
keep us from living the life you want.
