[nfbcs] Videos and buffering.

If you are both downloading or uploading at once, you will of course
limit each other's bandwidth. Remember that background programs, such
as Windows updates, Java updates, torrents, Skype file transfers you
initiated or accepted, etc., can use bandwidth without being
particularly obvious about it.

If you are both using cable, you are probably sharing your bandwidth
with other people in your area as well. That has always been the
nature of cable Internet as far as I know. DSL does not tend to do
this.

Okay, this brings me to another question, since people in close
proximity have been mentioned. I am sharing a connection with my
roommate. We've both experienced the buffering problem I mentioned
with videos on the web. Is it because we're on the same modem,
perhaps?
