Subject: GDB Reach for the Stars Scholarship

 

The GDB Alumni Association is accepting applications for the Annual "Reach
for the Stars Scholarship". The award is in the amount of $1,500.00 and is
generously funded each year by GDB Alumna Gina Harper.  The application
process is open to all current GDB grads that are students, including
incoming freshmen, who will be enrolled in an accredited college or
university during the 2014-2015 academic school year. The recipient will be
selected by the Nominating Committee of the GDB Alumni Association Board of
Directors.  The deadline for applications is September 21, 2014.

"Reach for the Stars Scholarship" applicants will need to submit the
following documentation in MS Word or Rich Text formats:

1)    A letter of introduction including email address, phone number, and
mailing address.

2)    A 500 word essay addressing the following topics: general
introduction, history with Guide Dogs, academic successes, community service
endeavors, and hobbies and interests; as well as what need the scholarship
funds will fulfill. 

3)    Transcripts for the previous semester/year, and proof of registration
for the upcoming semester.

4)    A letter of recommendation from a professor or other professional. 

All Documents must be submitted as email attachments using the following
file naming format:

Last Name_First Name_Introduction Letter_RSS

Last Name_First Name_Essay_RSS

Last Name_First Name_Transcript_RSS

Last Name_First Name_Recommendation Letter_RSS

All scholarship material should be sent as attachments in one email with the
subject line: 2014 RSS Scholarship Application, directed to GDB Alumni
Association Director, Theresa Stern at tstern at guidedogs.com.
