Using RTD's New Service Alerts System

The new service alert system from the Denver Rapid Transit District now
offers service alerts via email or text. However, there is no formal user's
guide to operate this web-based system.

These instructions are intended to help readers to sign up to use this new
system, to add or remove bus or light rail routes for which they want to
receive alerts, and to specify whether alerts are to be received by email or
text.

Creating Your Account

To use the new alert service, you need to create an account. Navigate your
browser to the RTD Service Alerts Self Registration page, which can be found
at this link: https://notifications.rtd-denver.com/s/login/SelfRegister. On
this page, you will be asked to enter your first name, your last name, your
email address, and the password to be associated with your account. This
password (which must be entered twice) must contain at least 8 characters
and must contain alphabetic, numeric, and special (punctuation) characters.
Once you have filled in all of this information, activate the "Sign Up"
button.

Once this step has been completed, you should save your password in a safe
place so that you can proceed to the next section where you will add the bus
routes and/or light rail lines about which you wish to receive alerts.

Adding Bus Routes and Light Rail Lines To Receive Alerts

Navigate your browser to the RTD Service Alerts Login Page, found at
https://notifications.rtd-denver.com/s/login/. Note that the Username you
need to enter is the email address you supplied when you created your
account. A successful login will take you to the main RTD Service Alerts
page. If you have not set up any alerts, This page will present you with two
radio buttons:

*	Sign up for Service Alerts and
*	Manage Newsletter Subscriptions.

If, however, you have set up one or more alerts, you will be presented with
three radio buttons:

*	Sign up for Service Alerts,
*	Manage Service Alert Subscriptions, and
*	Manage Newsletter Subscriptions.

Activate the "Sign up for Service Alerts" radio button.

On the page which then appears, you will be asked to select one of two radio
buttons:

*	Email or
*	Text Message.

Receive Alerts Via Email

If you activate the Email radio button, a page appears on which all of the
bus routes and light rail lines are listed. Each route has a checkbox to the
left which, by default, is not checked. Go through the list and check the
boxes for the routes or lines for which you want to receive email alerts.
After you have selected the routes or lines for which you want to receive
alerts, activate the Next button.

For each route or line that you checked on the previous page, you will be
asked to select a direction for the route or line. You can choose one
direction or round trip. Then activate the Next button again.

IF you choose to receive alerts for specific stops, you will be presented
with a list of every stop along the route along with a checkbox which, by
default, is not checked. Select the stops and directions which interest you,
then activate the Next button.

Receive Alerts Via Text

If you activate the Text Message button, you will be asked to enter the ten
digits of your mobile phone number. Fill in your mobile phone number and
then activate the Opt In button.

A page will appear on which all of the bus routes and light rail lines are
listed. Each route has a checkbox to the left which, by default, is not
checked. Go through the list and check the boxes for the routes or lines for
which you want to receive text alerts. After you have selected the routes or
lines for which you want to receive alerts, activate the Next button.

For each route or line that you checked on the previous page, you will be
asked to select a direction for the route or line. You can choose one
direction or round trip. Then activate the Next button again.

You are then asked to choose whether you want to receive alerts for all
stops for this route or line or specific stops.

IF you choose to receive alerts for specific stops, you will be presented
with a list of every stop along the route along with a checkbox which, by
default, is not checked. Select the stops and directions which interest you,
then activate the Next button.

Deleting Routes or Lines to Receive Alerts

Navigate your browser to the RTD Service Alerts Login Page, found at
https://notifications.rtd-denver.com/s/login/. Note that the Username you
need to enter is the email address you supplied when you created your
account. A successful login will take you to the main RTD Service Alerts
page. Since you already have some alerts established, this page will present
you with three radio buttons:

*	Sign up for Service Alerts,
*	Manage Service Alert Subscriptions, and
*	Manage Newsletter Subscriptions.

Activate the Manage Service Alert Subscriptions button.

All of your routes and alerts will be displayed on screen, Regardless of
whether you have chosen to receive alerts by email, text, or both. Check the
boxes next to the alerts you want to remove, then activate the Next button.
