Hey guys. The NFB has been fighting to cancel a multibillion dollar State Department program to distribute thousands of Amazon Kindles (which are inaccessible for the blind) as part of a global language teaching initiative. The NFB’s argument stresses the imperative of accessible, non-discriminatory resources in US over-seas philanthropy/culture exchange. Although perhaps you’d call the language initiative global assimilation. Anyhow, it seems the NFB is seeing success as the Kindle program’s been shelved for the present.
