> Connecticut Department of Public Health issues COVID-19 alert for Norwich after significant spike in new cases

> The Connecticut Department of Public Health late last night issued a COVID-19 alert for Norwich due to a recent spike of new cases over the last two weeks. The department if working with local officials to get the word out in the community to take extra precautions, including:

> Limiting trips outside the home;
> Wearing masks anytime when leaving the house;
> Avoiding indoor gatherings with people who are not part of the household; and
> Not attending large outdoor gatherings

> Between September 13 and 26, there were at least 84 new COVID-19 cases in Norwich, raising the daily case rate to 24 per 100,000 – the highest rate in the state.
