Join our collaborative staffing team at the Minnesota Department of Corrections! We offer free parking, flexible start/end times, and a family-friendly work environment.  This position is eligible to telework.

Provide advanced professional-level human resources and labor relations services for staff at MCF-Willow River/Moose Lake so that the MCF executive management, supervisors and employees are provided with information and services that meet organizational and employee needs.

Job Responsibilities include:

- Consult with facility managers and supervisors in the interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements/plans so that management rights are protected and labor relations are effective.

- Coordinate grievance hearing and resolution process. Engage in labor management cooperation with local union leadership and exclusive representatives.

- Advise managers and supervisors regarding procedures and requirements concerning investigations of employee misconduct from initiation to conclusion.

- Develop and present training programs for facility managers and supervisors on topics such as performance and sick leave management, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), grievance handling, investigating employee misconduct, and managing overtime.

- Advise managers and supervisors regarding workforce complement issues, staffing and retention.

- Provide lead work direction to regional HRM staff at MCF-Willow River/Moose Lake. Assume responsibilities of Regional HR Director in his/her absence.

- Prepare responses to Human Rights/Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaints, lawsuits, and requests for employee data under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act. Complete other special projects and advise staff as needed.
