Our Team is Growing.  Come join the Labor Relations Team at Revenue!  This posting is eligible to work full-time in the office, a hybrid or full-time telecommuting schedule.

Labor Relations Consultants play a critical role in contributing to a positive employee experience at the Department of Revenue. The Labor Relations Consultant will provide support to the Labor Relations Manager in administering Revenue's labor and employee relations functions. This includes, but is not limited to, handling disputes, conducting investigations, and providing direction and training to managers and supervisors in the administration of labor agreements and employment plans. This position is also responsible for providing guidance and consultation to managers and supervisors regarding employee misconduct and other performance related issues and reviewing and updating HR policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of professional human resources/labor relations work experience

OR

Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, business, or public administration plus one (1) years of professional level human resources/labor relations experience.

Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:

  *   Knowledge and experience in contract administration and interpretation, grievance processing, applying labor relations principles and practices of collective bargaining
  *   Experience consulting with managers and supervisors on employee and labor relations issues including disciplinary actions
  *   Experience in conducting employment investigations and recommending appropriate corrective action to management
  *   Experience in writing formal reports and memorandums
  *   Communications skills sufficient to explain sensitive, controversial decisions to staff and leaders in a clear and concise manner; ability to demonstrate courage and be willing to experience discomfort in uncomfortable situations; establish and maintain effective business partnerships and positive work culture.
  *   Knowledge and experience interpreting and applying relevant State and Federal Laws, including ADA, FMLA, and FLSA
  *   Experience participating in the review and development of agency HR policies and operational practice.
  *   Critical thinking and problem-solving skills sufficient to research, analyze and evaluate complex information, recognize problems, and make sound recommendations to resolve issues
  *   Experience providing training and delivering presentations to managers and supervisors on HR practices and procedures
  *   Experience in promoting diversity, equity, access and inclusion
