Well, depending on how the stats class is taught you could get through
it with no problem.  I had a few friends who had Excel-based stats
classes, where even the sighted students were taught using Excel, and
they did fine with it; it's just if it's graphing calculator-based
then it becomes a little more challenging.  Still, probably a good
move to wait, just so you can have multiple resources available to
you.
